Reasons to Love Flatback

What exactly is Flatback earrings?

Flatback studs are earrings featuring a Flat backing, distinct from standard stud earrings with a protruding post and butterfly back. We offer flatback earrings in three materials:

  • Implant Grade Titanium ASTM F-136

  • Solid 14KT Gold

  • Solid 18KT Gold

Because of the seamless design, they don't poke behind their ears; making it extra comfortable to wear especially in cartilage piercing placements like the conch, tragus, flat, and helix. Durable for everyday wear, making them a great option for those who prefer not to switch out their earrings on a daily basis!

One Flatback, Endless Possibilities

Why is there multiple lengths for flatback post?

Each ear is unique, which is why we offer six different lengths to accommodate your ear anatomy based on thickness and piercing placement. Each time you get a new piercing, you'll be pierced with a longer earring post (8-7mm); for thicker ears 9-10mm. However, after 4-6 weeks, it's advisable to downsize to a shorter post (6-5mm) for a better fit. This downsizing helps minimize friction and lowers the risk of inflammation.

Why Internally threaded Flatback?

Internal threading is a standard for the Association of Professional Piercers (APP), especially for fresh piercings, as it causes no irritation. This design also minimises trauma to freshly pierced ears and is good for those with sensitive skin.

How to insert a Flatback earrings?

  1. Push the flatback post through the BACK of your piercing

  2. Once the post is peeking through the front of your piercing, align and insert the front threaded earring to the post’s opening

  3. Slowly turn the threaded end clockwise onto the post. Make sure it is tight and securely fastened to the flatback post
